The Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF)

Created in accordance with a March 2000 agreement between the governments of India and the United States of America, the Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF) is an independent, bilateral organisation that receives funding from both countries and works to advance science, technology, engineering, and innovation through meaningful engagement between the public and private sectors. The corresponding nodal departments are the U.S. Department of State, the Government of India, and the Department of Science and Technology.

The primary objectives of the Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum include:

  1. Facilitating scientific and technological cooperation between Indian and U.S. researchers, institutions, and industries.
  2. Supporting joint research projects, workshops, conferences, and exchange programs.
  3. Promoting innovation and entrepreneurship through partnerships between Indian and U.S. stakeholders.
  4. Fostering long-term collaborations and strategic alliances in areas of mutual interest, such as healthcare, energy, agriculture, climate change, information technology, and space exploration.
